It’s ironic that Christians seem content to follow in a book that does nothing but judge people, yet complain when you judge them. Ironic that this book inspires them to invade public life and government, trying to force their biblical laws onto us, often times on the pretense of their own …
I don’t condone wishing death upon anyone… but if this woman just so happen to die suddenly of some unforeseen natural cause, I wouldn’t shed a tear. Never have I seen someone so full of hate and stupidity… and THAT is saying something. Bitch makes Palin look tactful.
The scary thing is how common this idea still is, and how many voters it will resonate with. This is exactly what my parents and other biological family members and their friends — i.e., basically my entire pre-transition “support system” — think. (Even if they wouldn’t word it as, “God hates them”, what the fuck else could they mean by “God is sending them to hell”?)
Oh. My. It’s appalling to me that she is even in a position of political influence, let alone that she has a chance at the Republican nomination.
For years, copying other people, I tried to know myself. From within, I couldn’t decide what to do. Unable to see, I heard my name being called. Then I walked outside.
The breeze at dawn has secrets to tell you. Don’t go back to sleep. You must ask for what you really want. Don’t go back to sleep. People are going back and forth across the doorsill where the two worlds touch. The door is round and open. Don’t go back to sleep.
"In total God kills 371,186 people directly and orders another 1,862,265 people murdered in the christian bible. The God of the Bible also allows slavery, including selling your own daughter as a sex slave (Exodus 21:1-11), child abuse (Judges 11:29-40 and Isaiah 13:16), and bashing babies against rocks (Hosea 13:16 & Psalms 137:9)." Now who would want to love and pray to a god like that?
“You can’t just say, “There’s a God, because the world is beautiful.” You have to account for bone cancer in children. You have to account for the fact that almost all animals, in the wild, live under stress with not enough to eat, and will die violent and bloody deaths. There is not any way that you can just choose the nice bits and say, “That means there is a God,” and ignore the true fact of what nature is. The wonder of nature must be taken in its totality.”—Stephen Fry, Apoplectic Skeptic (via ohmysagan)
